how to display kernel error messages

Hi folks
i'm having trouble with my laptop (some noname(nexoc odin) device)
directly after uncompressing the linux kernel the system hangs
last message : Uncompressing linux ... ok, loading the kernel
after finding out that none of the other solutions worked and that nobody knows my laptop, i need to know how to display kernel error messages like: loading apci, loading amp and stuff like that for further diagnose

Knoppix26 is set up to show kernel output, don't think you can with the 2.4 kernel.
