Hi.

So Knoppix is really nifty to me, in that it's easy to get going... is it going to fly on an older toshiba laptop (I think it's a p90, 32mb, 1.5gb)? I have no CD-rom, so, I'll have to plug the HD into a different machine to set it all up...

also, is there a nice online primer for linux which doesn't assume you already know how linux works?

Thanks in advance for any help.

not fly, but it wil work, sadly i would recomend 128Mb for a graphical interface (64 if you have swap and use icewm instead of KDE).
if you had more knowledge you could install Debian or Slackware on it with plenty oc space left. i have installs under 65Mb so...
but as things stand i think feather or DSL (stands for: Damn Small Linux) are better.
they are more or less stripped versions of knoppix.

as for tutorials
for comandline stuff i frequently point to http://floppix.com/labs.html , nice basic stuff that asumes you have never seen linux, ok some "computer knowledge" is asumed but...
and for more advanced stuff tldp.org has TONS of specific guides/tutorials and howtos, then you are ofcource welcome to ask here aswell.
