First of all,greetings!!
Tonight i downloaded Knoppix 3.6,because i decided that i wanted something different from windows, and because of the livecd function it provides,i figured Knoppix would be a safe bet.I burned it,and had checksummed it without errors,so i guess that's not the problem at all. What the problem is,is that i can't boot from my BIOS,period.I have a Dell Dimension 8200,and in the past i've had nothing but problems with trying to boot cd's from my BIOS.Now i did some googling, and came upon the suggestion that, under DOS i should use rawrite.exe which is supposed to be on the Knoppix cd,but sadly,it is not.
I've also read that under linux i should type something like dd if=/cdrom/KNOPPIX/boot.img of=/dev/fd0 bs=18k,or so.But since i don't linux on my comp, this is also not possible at the moment.Does anyone got any other suggestions?I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance
