Making Knoppix 3.3 recognize USB Keyboards

I recently tried to use Knoppix 3.3 on a Compaq computer that has a USB keyboard. It recognized it enough for me to get into Knoppix, but once the GUI loaded, it didn't recognize it anymore. I need to know if there is any special stuff I need for it to recognize my keyboard.

dear everyone how are you my first post what kind of cheat code can I use to boot live with patches and where can I find them k has no driver for old campaq usb keyboard so swithced with new labtec key fine but mouse won't work p/n 851979-0000 also k does not seem to recognize my external burner/video capture any ideas also which linux has the best multimedia support thanks have a great day yours Kristaps
