After 3.7 HD install (tried all 3)on Dell Inspiron 8100 Laptop.First thing noticed, upon boot to 2.6 kernel, bootup seemed normal, all hardware found. After booting into KDE, tried to start sound using gui in control center, it took about 5 minutes before it unfroze and then i tried to play an ogg file from /usr/share/sounds using ogg123, nothing.Checked and adjusted volume and mixer levels (which showed up normal) , still nothing, no sound.I thinked i tried everything as far as getting sound to work with the exception of reinstalling , yet again.Second problem noticedEventhough scsi support for cdrw and dvd were used @ boot, and cat /proc/scsi/scsi output looks normal, i cannot seem to mount my drives or use them to burn cd's or watch dvd's.Third and i hope final problem noticedUpon shutdown/reboot i get stuck after unmounting / it just stays stuck not rebooting, i have not checked my init scripts, but then again i am a newbie.below is a listing of all hardware and outputs from lspci, lsmod, cat /proc/scsi/scsi, along with dmesg.Any help would be so much appreciated, anyone please??

I really don't know enough about Linux or Knoppix/Debian in general, tus far from what i see it's a very good OS, this distro in particular is a wesome, with the exception of my above issues, which are most likely my own newbie stupidity.Any help would be much appreciated any input at all.If any other out files are needed just reply to this post and i will be able to view it..
