Problems with apt-get

Okay all, I am new to Knoppix but not new to Linux. Just installed Knoppix on my HD about a week ago, and I am having problems with it working...
i noticed while i was looking for Kaffeine, it couldn't find it, returned with, "cannot find packege" any suggestions?

Did you do apt-get update first? The package lists have been purged to save space & must be updated before you can install anything.
I use kpackage as a 'package browser' to make sure the package name etc is correct when apt tells me it can't find something I know should be there.

yeah, actually I did some searching and came up with that, I got it straight after I had posted :)
