x-windows session terminated with boot CD KnoppixKDE3.1

I booted up the KnoppixKDE 3.1 on my Dell Laptop p233, 128MB, 20GB HD, but it hangs with the error message:

x-windows session terminated with erros
please check and retry'/etc/init d/xsession start.'

I would really like to get this boot CD working with my laptop but what is going wrong? The Bios is set to boot from CD and initially everything seems to loading up fine but then I stops.

On your laptop try to boot with one of the framebuffers such as:
fb1024x768 or fb800x600 or fb1280x1024
depending on what video resolution your screen will support.
