Burning knoppiox

Ok so i downaloded knoppix 3.7 it was the en.iso file. It was in a zip file and, my friend told me not to unzip it. And it would do all the work when i burn it so i tried it like that. When i restarted my computer it tried to read it but it said there was no iso file found. so i tried unziping it and burning all the files in it to the cd. this time when i restarted it tried to boot it and then it said there was a error with the iso during the boot process. so was it my iso mounter or was it in the program it's self? i got the link from the knoppix site links so i am sure the data should have been fine, any imput you could give would be great. thanks!
