HELP! i need to set my video card TNT2 m64 issues

Ive got a problem with my video card it is a "Nvidia Tnt2 m64" and when xsession starts the my monitor turns off but.. in windows it is fine why is this happening? PLEASE HELP IM NEW ! :(

hi, i had the same problem but with my pro savage video card.

actually a friend of mine told me that the problem isnt with the video card but the monitor. Windows as is older than linux supports old and new monitors and then it can display an image.

i ran knoppix in expert mode and when arriving to X11 setup i manually configured the video card driver and, ths important, the vertical and horizontal sync range of my monitor. it worked out!
