How could I boot from a pcmcia cd-rom

I have a sony laptop with a pcmcia cd-rom.When i use it to boot up.it can't work.
Say can't find a file system.Maybe the knoppix don't integrate pcmcia cd-rom driver like win98
But winXP can work well.
Can i do something to make it up?
I am a chinese.So my english is not very good.Please help me anyway!
