The 3.2 Version doesn't boot on MSI K7T Turbo Raid. :-(
Failsafe doesn't help.
Error msg:

ataraid/d0: ataraid/d0p1 ataraid/d0p2
Drive 0 is 76319 MB
Raid0 array consists of 1 drives.

Code : Bad EIP value

Kernel panic : attempted to kill init!

It seems to be an error during detection of second raid array. But i have only one array (80GB) on raid controller (and two drives on the on-board controller).
disconnecting the hd from raid doesnt help.

The old version of knoppix (in german c't) worked fine !!!

How to disable the raid driver ?

I'm getting roughly the same error message using the 3.2 ver. on an ECS K7S5A . It gets to "ataraid/d:0" and then dumps with the same error message as the previous poster.

I dont have a raid controller at all!

The system is :

AMD Athlon 1700 xp, ECS K7S5A mb, 512mb sdram, Que 32x12x48 cdrw and a total of about 130gb hd space on 3 drives (not raided)

Try to disable first ide channel in bios. I suppose, your CD-ROM and one HD drive are on the second channel. The Promise IDE controller on my mainboard worked and i could access one of my harddisks.

alexk195 has a good idea. The EIP error is a BIOS error. You might also try booting with the 'noapm' &/or 'noapic' options. The option 'pci=biosirq' may also be worth checking out.
