View Full Version : Problems with the sources.list of Apt-get

Hey did any one have been having problems with the JAVA mirrors. right now my "sources.list" its pointing to " ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/languages/java/linux/debian" But aparently htat site its down. I have been looking for the Us correct mirror but I havent Find it. Please if anyone know what its the correct mirror, please let me know. Thanks

Sorry to say, the site has been down for a long time...

Just comment it out, that, and any other sites that are reporting errors...

If the site is "specific", like the java one, chances are, you dont need it, thus, that is why it is erroring out - probably, the site has already "uploaded" its contents into the "debian" ones, and, seperate downloading, from another site, is not necessary anymore...

Same thing is probably true for the "kde specific" sites - debian sites "probably" have the most recent releases, and going to the "source" of where they came from, is not needed anymore.
