How Config Compaq USB Modem

I´m Newbie in Linux, i burn the Knoppix Cd and i love it, i save all my config in my HD (my HD have WinXP), but i can´t install my modem (Compaq 56k v90 USB) how can i install it and save the config??

If it's anything like my Olitec Speed Com USB V92, I think you'll never get it working.
I've been forced to dig out my old COM1 connected 36kB Olitec which works just fine, although somewhat slower.
USB stuff is pretty tricky, and USB modems seem to be the worst
