I want to save some files off to a USB Drive. I want to encrypt these files and then be able to take them to a windows machine and read them. Is there any linux commands that will encrypt the files that have a freeware counterpart to decrypt them to be read?

thanks,
Gary

GnuPG is your friend. It is compatible with PGP (Pretty Good Privacy), and it is also available for Windows.
