I'm new to Knoppix (New to Linux, actually. Heard Knoppix was a good start), and i was just wondering how to get my Internet connection working.

I have a Linksys router with DSL, connectiong through a CAT5 Ethernet. I was suprised when it didn't automatically detect the Internet connection, but nevertheless, can't have it all given to you on a silver platter.

Keep in mind that I'm completely new to Linux, so I don't know many Linux commands. I looked in the Mozilla Browser's Internet Options (I was suprised to see that Knoppix didn't have Firefox. Oh well), and saw nothing I could use.

Help, anyone?

I am too, if everything else is working it certainly should have. You might want to look at the two threads below and see if this could be your problem. Otherwise make sure that dhcp is enabled in your router (although if you had disabled it I would expect that you would know that). Normally Knoppix will "just connect" via DHCP when you have a router.
