You don't have to install aim. Knoppix includes a decent AOL IM replacement called gaim. You should be able to find it in the menu. If you really want AOL IM then I found http://www.aim.com/get_aim/linux/latest_linux.adp?aolp= by searching google for aim linux (http://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial_s&hl=en&q=aim+linux&btnG=Google+Search).
