Hello list,

I was wondering if it is possible to have Knoppix booting from a USB stick and have on the same stick another partition with FAT32, so that I can store some files there when I have booted with Knoppix as well as using the files, wenn I put the USB stick in my Windows computer.

I don't know if I can even have two partitions on one USB stick.

I have seen that Knopix supports a permanent home directory tool. Is this the right way to get files from Knoppix to a FAT32 formatted directory permanently?

Thanks for all your comments and help.

Hello list,

I found a way to create two partitions on my 1GB usb stick. To do this, I booted my computer with the Knoppix CD.
There I found my usb stick (as usual) under /dev/sda.
I started "fdisk /dev/sda" and created a primary partition of 512MB with linux filesystem(83). For the second partition I although chosed a primary partition (don't know if this was OK) and put a windows FAT32 filesystem on it(c). With "a" I defined my linux partition as bootable and with "w" I wrote everything on the stick. So far so good. But how do I get my smal knoppix.iso on the first partition? Do I need more than the iso-file?

Greatings
