new too knoppix

can anyone help me?iam new too the knoppix world and when i boot from cd i can only boot in failsafe mode.this works ok then i cant connect too the internet as knoppix doesnt recognise my internet connection.i hope someone can help me sort this out as knoppix seems like a good operating system. :D :)

What happens (very specifically) when you try to boot without the failsafe parameter?

If you haven't tried any of the knoppix cheat codes or read the cheat code page then it

when i dont boot with failsafe i dont get the knoppix screen,just darkness.ive tried the cheats on f2 and f3.
