Extreme Newbie - Internet problem

Hi guyx,

This is my first experience with non windows OS. I am having problem connecting on the internet when i run knoppix. I am on a LAN, where i connect to a server using ( servername, username , password ) to access the internet ... the SSH shell. What do i do when i on knoppix ?
Soz to be a pain . .. Im learning

do you want to use ssh in knoppix?
open a console (icon looking vaugely like computermonitor) then type like below, ofcource replace username with your accountnamne and ip or namne with the desired computers.

ssh username@ipnumber_or_name (enter)
you will be asked for a password.

if this is not it you need to explain more.
