I've installed Firefox and Thunderbird, but when they started up I didn't get the promt to set them as my default Browser and Mailer, respectively.
Is there an option in Knoppix where you can set these manually?

Thanks,
Mark

For default browser on your console as root

update-alternatives --config x-www-browser
choose mozilla-firefox

Later you'll encounter problem :? using mailto links on firefox that don't do nothing or url on your mails in thunerbird that don't open on Firefox.
To have communication between firefox & thunderbird follow these Instructions (http://www.bytecave.net/anders/guide/SinglePage/#FirefoxFromThunderbird).
My paths for these instructions are: (depends on how you installed firefox & thunderbird, this paths are for apt method)
On firefox

/usr/lib/mozilla-thunderbird/mozilla-thunderbird-bin
On Thunderbird

/usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/firefox (if you use firefox-bin it will launch the profile manager)
Tthere are other solution but this is the easy way

That instructions work on my Knoppix 3.7 hd install

Thanks very much :)
The update-alternatives bit doesn't seem to work, but I only really wanted to make the programs launch from within each other, and the way you suggested works perfectly :D

Thanks again,
Mark
