I'm using the Knoppix 3.7 20041208 live CD. When booting, it outputs messages that show it does see a Firewire device, but when I do fdisk -l all I see is /dev/hda and my partitions therein.

Here's the lspci -vv for the firewire device:

02:07.0 FireWire (IEEE 1394): Texas Instruments TSB43AB22/A IEEE-1394a-2000 Controller (PHY/Link) (prog-if 10 [OHCI])

I'm told modprobe pcilynx will do the trick, but that doesn't work with the 20041208 Knoppix CD. Any ideas?

My whole reason for using Knoppix is to run partimage and backup the machine to my 80GB Firewire drive.

Thanks,

Ed
