3.7 freezes on boot trying to obtain IP from DHCP

Hallo, everybody,
Knoppix 3.7 freezes on boot trying to obtain IP from DHCP (there is no DHCP in my home network).
Does anybody know what can it mean?
My laptop is Acer Travelmate 2303WLMi with Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller
Other LiveCDs, like Slax, work fine.

Disable automatic DHCP with the boot cheat code:
knoppix nodhcp

Once knoppix is up and running either use the knoppix icon menu to configure the network card or run as root netcardconfig and enter your static IP address.

Thanks a lot! It works! I'm still having other problems (no sound, but the sound card was detected),
but I'll try to solve it.
BTW, is there a chance to get my WXGA 1280x800 working at full resolution? 1024x768 looks not too
nice here.
