I don't know but you can check here: http://www.linuxcompatible.org/compatibility.html
They also have a forum. If you have a pci card slot available you could get a linux
compatible pci sound card and install it.

because maybe it is supported

eh?? are you sure? AC97 seems to be suported well.
As a matter of fact I have a 8233 chip integrated in my motherboard, that is suported.
