Hi all,
I jus got Knoppix iso file on dvd and asked my friend to burn but he recorded it as ISO file.. i mean the cd-rom shows " KNOPPIX_V3.2-2003-06-06-EN.iso " ..
So i want to do a HDD install.. i m a newbie and dont know what is this DEBIAN (or smthing)... i read many tutorials regd. this but everyone said "Load into your existing linux and mount...."
But the problem is i dont have a linux os.. i have both winxp and win98 .. i have a 40 gb HDD with equal partitions (fat32). i hope that'll do..
So please help me!
Thanks in advance :)
Bye

I have already extracted the ISO file (with winrar) on c:/knoppix ..
I think (please dont laugh it off.. i m a newbie) that if i load linux from the bootable disk (from mkfloppy.bat) and giving it the file path of knoppix on hdd instead on cd.. but the problem is HOW?

Bye

Bestbet, get your friend to burn the iso as an image.

It would also help to get a newer version of Knoppix - 3.8 hasn't been officially released yet, so you want KNOPPIX_V3.7-2004-12-08-EN.iso.

also if possible, have your firend burn it just onto a CDR or CDRW. When I tried it on DVD, it didn't work.
