1) Follow UnderScore's advice.

2) Check the md5 sum. Is the iso correct or not? If it's not correct then don't burn it, if it's good you are wrong about the size.

3) What makes you think that the iso is over over 715 MB in size?

Well, i'm using flashget to download in which it's showing file size as 715 764 kilobytes BUT that equals 698.988281 megabytes...

resolved :)

Thanks harry.

well that explains the extra file size... i use to use flashget (when i had dial up) out of pure desperation... its not the best!

ok... have you have 120% alchole or nero... just open that, open the *.iso file, and burn... little tip... burn at slow speed... and make sure you dont have any little bro's or sisters jumping near (or on) the burner... grr

Try as root

cdrecord -scanbus
cdrecord -overburn dev=0,0,0 knoppix.iso

The three numbers (0,0,0) are those returned from the scanbus command for your CD writer.
The overburn option will try to burn the CD even though it is over the official maximum capacity.
Works for me.

The overburn option will try to burn the CD even though it is over the official maximum capacity. It's not over, read the above, he made a (common) error.
