After downloading the Knoppix ISO and burning it to CD using Nero (at 48X and then again at 8X), I am unable to boot using the CD. The CD will load while I'm in Windows and I am able to browse it. My CD/DVD drive is a Lite-On DVD SOHD-167T. When loading the CD (BIOS is set to recognize the CD first), I get to the Linux "boot" prompt and hit enter. The screen shows the penguin and then a line showing:

Probing SCSI...aic7xxx.0

Then after about 30-45 seconds, the CD spins down. I let this go for about 20 minutes to see if it would detect anything else, but it did not. Any ideas??? Thanks!

Other Hardware:
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum MoBo
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
2GB RAM
Lite-On DVD SOHD-167T (Noted above)
Lite-On DVDRW SOHW-1633S
200GB Seagate SATA HD
Leadtek nVidia 6800 GT 256MB Graphics Card
Wireless Logitech Keyboard/Mouse

at the start screen, try
knoppix atapicd

the probe thinks it is still having to look for devices, and hasn't recognised that it has found a drive already on hda or hda
that is, did the lines above the probe scsi show your hard drives correctly ?
