I'd like to install Knoppix along side with Mandrake 10.1-mini. I've installed Mandrake and have verified that its working. What steps do I take in order to install Knoppix as well (and be able to boot to either?)

I'm fairly new to this, and searching through the forum I see all kind of similar questions/answers to my problem, but nothing specific or detailed enough for an FNG such as myself to follow.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks!

Make sure you have free space on your hard drive to make a new partition, then read the Hd Install HowTo at http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/Hd_Install_HowTo:
You should get Knoppix version 3.4 or later and type sudo knoppix-installer in the shell if you want to do this. Please ALWAYS make sure that you have a working backup of your important data prior to experimenting with ANY new software, no matter if Windows, Linux or anything else. Have a look here for more info about sudo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sudo).

In knoppix-installer, arrow keys move focus and space bar selects options.

Note: Do not use "knx-hdinstall" anymore. "knx-hdinstall" is no longer maintained, use "knoppix-installer" instead.

So what do i do when it comes to boot time? If I'm searching and reading right, it looks like I tell Knoppix to take care of business in the primary root, rather than the master boot record?

This might sound silly, but then what? Am i configuring the mandrake boot leader to give me an option to load knoppix?

thanks for your help....
