Sometimes the HD starts to generate sound like click, click, and clik. Sometimes this clicks stop without any problems, but sometimes pc suspends with a freeze screen “to prevent further damage, but reboot next without any problems.

What this click is? What is wrong with this HD, and how to fix this?

May be, this is not knoppix problem, but I’ll appreciate any advice.
Best, L

I think your HD might die.
Backup all important files if possible.
Google the symptoms.
Hope it all works out.

It could mean your PSU isn't supplying sufficient power too.

The click sound is likely coming from the head mechanism, driven by a magneto type process. It hasn't got power to operate so it's springing back to its base rest ..."click" ....

Try disconecting all other hardware and see if it works then. If so ... PSU upgrade.

As above ... Backup data.

Also, does it only happen at initial startup. Cold starts can be problematic as well. Stiff mechanisms that is.
