Which HP mouse? Is it serial or ps2?

Can you try another mouse?

try a normal standard mouse...

Some helpful hints -

If your mouse doesn't move, it's not an *emergency.* Your subject line is like "crying wolf" - it makes people think something Really Serious is going on.

Be more descriptive in your Subjects. "Please help - mouse not moving" would be better.

If its a hd install, try doing this:-

apt-get remove gpm

restart X
