I'm trying to use Knoppix 3.7 as a bootable (recovery) CD on a Dell Inspiron 3500. My network card is a D-Link DMF 560TX, quite standard, and has worked fine under Redhats 6-9. Knoppix fails to recognize the card properly (2nd beep angry), though it is listed explicitly in /etc/pcmcia/config; log file says
eth0: pcnet_reset_8390() did not complete.
pcnet_cs: unable to read hardware net address for io base 0xa20.
Any suggestions?
