Hello everybody as all of u can see i'm a new bie..
My question is the following, is it possible to install Knoppix and run it from my HD, but also run Windows?? in other words can i use Windows and Linux?? i have two HD and i want to install Linux in one of them..can anyone plzz tell me how i Love linux...but i dont wanna get rid of windows bcuz i have lots of programs that i really need for Homework purposes..please help me, thnx i will greatly appreciate it..I have version 3.8.1 Live CD

You can do that, no problem.

Just boot knoppix, wait until it all loads, open up a Terminal and type

sudo knoppix-installer (I'd pick the Debian install, every time)

and follow the prompts.

Just make sure that you write to the correct HD.

In Linux speak hda is the first drive on the primary IDE channel (primary master), hdb the primary slave, hdc the secondary master and so on. Note that for the purposes of identifying drives, any of these could be a CD device. Windows likes to be on the primary master.

The usual caveat: back up anything really important.

Yes. Once you've sorted out the bootloader it should be just fine.

Go for it, people here will help if you get stuck.
