Installing via a usb cd-drive

I want to install Knoppix on my Compaq Armada M300 laptop. The only problem is that i have a USB cd drive.
the question is, can knoppix be installed through a USB cd drive?

you'd have to manually mount the cd and boot to it.
so you'd need to modify the knoppix boot floppies.
someone else wanted to boot of something additional, I don't recall he made it.
I've not done it, but if the floppy command file is readable, you should be able to modify it
depending on your newbie status and linux ability.
