After unsuccessfully trying to get Knoppix 3.8.1 Live CD work with my USB thumbdrive, it was suggested I try using Knoppix 3.7 instead. Knoppix 3.7 handles my thumbdrive fine, but it turns I can't get my soundcard to work.
I have a Sound Blaster Audigy. Knoppix 3.7 manages to detect my soundcard correctly during boot up, but then the mixer has a red cross over it and I get no sound. I've tried running the soundcardconfig, and I got the same thing as the screenshots in this thread (http://www.knoppix.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17739) (basically it detects my soundcard as Audigy, which is correct, but then I got the error about emu10k1.o not currently in my search path).
Booting with "knoppix alsa" doesn't work either.
