any help would be great,
im new to linux knoppix and so on, when i boot up from cd the video card is forced to maximum resolution making it impossible to see anything, any thoughts as to how to govern the screen resolutions during the booting process, i am yet to install knoppix and am still running stoopid xp, once i have this problem sorted i will format my hd install knoppix and partition the drive up. little help

Take a look at the cheatcodes here: http://download.linuxtag.org/knoppix/knoppix-cheatcodes.txt
If you know your video card you can try to boot with the xmodule that coresponds to your card.
If that doesn't work you can also type "fb" and the resolution you want to use at the prompt.
e.g. "fb800x600"

last question then i should have it sussed, how do i engage the isolinx bootpromt?
or how would i stop the booting sequence so i could enter fb800x600?
can anyone reccoment a good faq for linux knoppix debian etc?
