I wonder if I boot Knoppix from bootable CD on a laptop, does it leave ANY trace on the hard drive?
Does it maby write any temporary files that it later delets?

If so, is there any options to turn off this function => so that there is not writing what so ever on the hard drive?

I wonder because my girlfriends XP Win lap top for work is set on "paranoia" security level, and it is not possible to do
anything fun on it (chat, webmail, many web pages are blocked ... ) and I was thinking that the Knoppix bootable CD is a way to go.

Any thougths on that?

Thanks and cheers!

So... it definatly doesn't leave anything on the HD.
There are options to save your HOME directory, &
to save the Knoppix setup & configurations.
But if you don't run these options NOTHING IS LEFT.

Thank you very much for your answer!

I still wonder if the Knoppix make temorari files that later delets,
or is it so that it never actualy write anything on the hard drive?

Cheers!
