Can Someone Help me?

I am a first time linux user, and i am trying to duel OS my computer. however, when ever i try to install knoppix, i get an error "can not write to HD, Does not have write Permission".
can anyone help me?

My other OS is Win XP, and the HD i am trying to install Knoppix on is only 4 Gigabytes

This HD is too small for instalation from Live CD, which is one big package, you can't change his size. You need minimum 2.5G for Knoppix and still can have a problems. There are Linux distribution which can work with less space on HD. Look at www.distrowatch.com.
