Hi
I can not connect my laptop to my wifi network with knoppix. It works fine in windows XP.
The hardware is
ACER Notebook ASPIRE 1522 WLMI
processor: AMD ATHLON 64-BIT 3000+
60 GB. harddisc and 512 MB. RAM
Wireless LAN 802.11g WiFi network (INPROCOMM chip IPN2220)
I am using Knoppix version 3.7 from cdrom.
The ndiswrapper script didn't work for me so I tried to follow the instructions from the sticky "Success with Knoppix 3.6 and wireless networking"

I can load the driver with ndiswrapper

ndiswrapper -l
Installed ndis drivers:
neti2220

there is also no problem with

modprobe ndiswrapper

lsmod shows that the ndiswrapper module is loaded.
The problem starts with

iwconfig wlan0 essid any

this results in

Error for wireless request "Set ESSID" (8B1A) :
Set failed on device wlan0 : No such device

And that is where I am stuck :(
Any help is welcome
Charles

If you haven't worked it out the latest release of Ndiswrapper is required.
Check the ndiswrapper forums.
