Our local linux users group is contemplating an install fest next month, my contribution will be knoppix cd's for give away, is there any art work available to spruce up the cd's or covers

Artwork, including covers, can be downloaded from one or more of the mirror sites. I think disc-label art is included, as well. At the very least, they can be used as a basis for your own versions...

Go to a knoppix mirror and then go into the knoppix-cover directory and then into the Tommie directory and there is a cover and a cd image.

Some of these labels say "Debian Woody" on them. I never quite got what the heck a woody is. Would someone please elaborate?
