Hi all,
ftp://ftp.uni-kl.de/pub/linux/knoppix/packages.txt say that the following is on the cd:

ii ipw2200-modules-2.6.11 1.0.1-1+2.6.11+10.00.Cus Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 Driver for Linux
ii ipw2200-nonfree 2.2-1 IPW2200 wireless device firmware files from Intel(R)

But I need IPW2200 drivers 1.0.4 and firmware 2.3 to get monitor mode to work so I can use kismet. How soon till you think this will happen? Any workarounds on instructions on setting it up myself? Thanks.

Maybe the next knoppix release? The current release, 3.9, is buggy and may or may not allow you to add/remove packages from a running system. If you really want it on a Knoppix CD then I guess that the only option you have it to make your own Knoppic CD through a process called remastering. I wrote a HOWTO document about it called HOWTO: Remaster the easy way using menu based scripts (http://www.knoppix.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13867). There is the wiki document http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/Knoppix_Remastering_Howto. And even an alternative method here http://www.knoppix.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18222. If you intend to remaster then I would recommend that you use Knoppix 3.8.2.

I hope this helps.

I just plan to do a hard drive install. By the way, is there a way to be sure what version of ipw2200 it's using?
