I don't think the konq faq's are going to have all the answers you want.

Which configurations do you want? Konqeror is highly configurable but firefox has some settings it does not & vica versa. Big difference between konq & firefox is that konq is much more versatile as it is also your system browser complete with navigation panel, text previewer, image preview & media plugins. Firefox is slightle faster at rendering web pages.

Yep, it save tmp files but it also cleans them up (I think this is actually a system function).

Except for one. It accumulates image thumbnails in the hidden folder /home/<username>/.thumbnails/normal and /home/<username>/.thumbnails/large and nothing seems to clean these up so you have to do it manually. Turn on 'view hidden files' under 'view' in konqueror, navigate to the folder, 'select all' & delete. This 'feature' can actually be quite useful as a source of icons if you are like me & cover the desktop with links to everything. On the other hand, it can be a real nuisance if space is tight. I have added a line in the startup scripts to remove these automatically on my laptop which has a small hd.
