Dear all,

Please help me with the following problem:
After a HD install of KNOPPIX 3.9 KDE does not recognize the optical drives installed in my computer. It is impossible to see the contents of the KNOPPIX CD when clicking on the icons.

K3b also does not recogníze neither the CD-R(W) nor the DVD drive.

Are the links /mnt/cdrom and /mnt/cdrom1 resp /mnt/auto/cdrom and /mnt/auto/cdrom1 correct?
Which alterations are required to make KDE and K3b operable?
BTW: From the Live-CD everything works well (the optical drives are recognized both for KDE and K3b.

Many thanks in advance

PBock

Search the forums. CDROM & CDRW device link breakage has been discussed before. Also see
