No GUI based ftp application. == Surprisingly valid criticism, but try "kget" or "konqueror"

If installed to HD, ' apt-get install gftp ' == To install a good FTP GUI client. Klaus prolly decided against including one on the CD to save space.

--IIRC, there is nothing by default on the ramdrive (" /dev/shm " or " /dev/ramdrive ") unless you put it there. (Perhaps with the "toram" boot parm)
