Cant get to the console?

Hello all, new to Knoppix and trying to do a HD install of the recent 4.0 DVD. My problem is that i dont seem to be able to get to the console window. The command (or keypress rather) is told to be ctrl+alt+f1 from the boot prompt appearing after a successful boot from the DVD but that doesnt seem to work for me. The keyboard is fully functional, could the problem be that i am using a swedish keyboard? What, in that case, would be the correct sequence of keys pressed to get to the console window?

Tried another solution, booted the live-dvd Knoppix 4.0 and started the installation from a command shell there, with command "sudo knoppix-installer lang=us". Still german language :cry:

Am i way outta line here, or isnt it possible to get to a console command window from the boot menu on the live DVD?

Knoppix boots with a splash screen. At that splash screen you can enter codes which will force Knoppix to do certain things. Theses codes are known as Cheat Codes (http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/Cheat_Codes). To get Knoppix to boot to a command line console as opposed to the a GUI desktop, use:
knoppix 2

Thank you, Sir, that was a solution that came to mind when i read the cheat codes and i will try it asap, also add some additional parameters.

EDIT. That worked just fine, i now have the 4.0 installed on my HD :D

On the other hand there´s some problems to solve but thats another issue.....
