I got a crappy p200 laptop, with just under the amount of HD required for a hd installation. I will not be using any windows manager except for twm, which I assume could save me a couple hundred megs on the HD install. I was wondering if there was a way to do a HD install package by package instead of installing the entire thing (which is slightly to big for this HD).
Thanks in advanced

Not exactly a partial install, how about a full install where you get to select exactly the software that you really want? As an added bonus you'll get an install that doesn't break when you try to upgrade and that will actually work from hard disk rather than have you post lots of questions that start with "This worked from CD, why did it stop working after HD install". The answer is Debian (http://www.debian.org/), the real HD distro Knoppix is built from.

Or that's one way to do it. An alternative would be a HD install of DSL.
