Hi,

I'd like to remaster knoppix while working in Debian sarge (not knoppix). Is it possible to use the Klaus scripts to do that? Any thing else to do?

Thanks!

As far as I know, remastering is possible only if you boot from the Knoppix cd (at least, if you follow the manual http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/Knoppix_Remastering_Howto).

On the other hand, this will not affect your Linux install; all you need is a writable partition and lots of memory/swap.

If you don't even want Knoppix to have write access to a partition, you could try to run it on a virtual PC using qemu. I use VMWare Workstation for Windows which makes remastering and testing very simple and efficient (no need to re-partition your hard disk, test ISO files before you burn CDs).
