View Full Version : Hijacker with Dell Inspiron and language problems

Knoppix v3.8.1 works horrible on my laptop. Dell Inspiron, 768 MB Ram, Intel Celeron, 80 GB HD. It works, but it only works in German(even when I switch to English). My mouse and keyboard doesn't work. It works fine other than that. Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix these problems? Because thats sort of why I joined the forum. :D

You seem to be discussing something completely different than the topic of this thread. This is very poor form and is considered hi-jacking the thread. You should start your own thread with a meaningful topic line when you have a question not directly related to a current thread.

3.8.1 is no longer widely available. 3.8.2 and 3.9 are, although 3.9 is seriously buggy and I would avoid it and go for 3.8.2 instead. I don't know what's taking 4.0 so long to come out. I would strongly urge the use of BitTorrent over downloading from a mirror. If you have never used BitTorrent and so you have already decided to ignore that advice, then maybe you shouldn't run Linux at all and Windows is more suitable for you. See the Downloading faq for more details. You want the version of the iso that ends in EN, not the one that ends in DE. There is a lang=US cheat code to deal with the German version and it does work (see the cheat code section of the wiki for details), but you can avoid that by properly downloading and properly burning an EN version.
