Internet connection works from the "Live" DVD for Knoppix ver 4.0. Upon install to the HDD no Internet connection. Tried setting up Networking with DCHP, the networking tool stalls and all the "buttons" are greyed out. So can't connect to internet. Tried "/etc/init.d/networking stop then /etc/init.d/networking start Said it was allready working? What is not configured correct? :(

Want to tell us a little about the network you are tring to connect to? Knoppix DVD certainly works connevting by DHCP to the networks I've used it on, so without knowing something about your network about all we can tell you is that it does work.

Went via KDE menu, selected "KNOPPIX", then "Network/Internet", then Network card, set up the erth0 for DCHP. That method worked. Have a ethernet card by 3com, into a Cisco router to Cable modem. Now a new problem. after getting the Internet to work, did apt-get update and then apt-get upgrade from Terminal using SU. After reboot it stalls, "Warning: /proc/ide/hd?/settings is obsolete and will be removed soon!" Lists the three drives, two HDD drives and the CD/DVD Drive, then keep getting "hdb: lost interrrupt", hdb is where Knoppix is installed, so can't get version 4.0 to work now :?:
