View Full Version : Error inserting gnertc

After remastering Knoppix to Gnome version I got an error message:

modprobe: WARNING: Error inserting genrtc (/lib/modules/2.6.11/kernel/driver/char/genrtc.ko).
Device or resource busy

I know that this is because kernel tries to load both genrtc.ko and rtc.ko (only one can be loaded).

In Debian Sarge I can avoid genrtc.ko to be loaded by adding a line to /etc/discover.conf file:

skip genrtc

But in this remastered version there is not such a file. What can I do? This problem came after removing some base package (mount or mount-aes). Everything seems to work fine anyhow.
