Hi all,

I have been using Knoppix for a while now off the CD. After installing Knoppix to the HDD with the knx-install script, I could begin the bootup sequence but it randomly stalls at different points during bootup. The CD has been checked for integrity and works perfectly. I also tried copying over some configuration files from the CD to the HDD. That didn't help either. What could it be?!?

Thanks,

Nikk

Well, it could be lots of things, but since the primary differnce b/t what you are doing now and tne cd usage is the HD, are you sure that there are no problems with your HD?

Its on a new 40G drive with a partition for Windows too, I have checked it and it checks out okay. I'm lost as to what it may be, I was hoping that maybe one of you guys could have had the same problem?!?

I have recently noticed that the CD begun to hang at boot time right after the background of the KDE is shown. The integrity of the CD is still perfect. Could that be a video card problem?

Have you made any adjustments in your BIOS? You might try disabling the automatic assignment of IRQ's. Just to make sure, everything was working correctly before you installed to hdd right?
