hi,
game knoppix dvd is installed on HD debian mode. i've followed instructions to config my sidewinder gamepad on sblive gameport.

1- when i type "modprobe emu10k1-gp" "modprobe joydev" "modprobe sidewinder" in a shell as root, joystick is recognized by jstest and kde peripheral control center :) (actually i've noticed that "modprobe sidewinder" is enough to have it recognized.)
but anyway, it's not usable in any games i've tried like tuxracer (ppracer) or tuxkart. :? is it a hardware configuration problem or games ? what game can i try, to be sure ?

2- in order to have it done automatically, i've tried this method, by example >>here (http://www.knoppix.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6707&highlight=sidewinder)<<
but when i reboot, sidewinder module is not loaded and there isn't anymore "sidewinder" "joydev" & "emu10k1-gp" lines in /etc/modules. There's a emu10k1_gp line. [edit /var/log/syslog says "emu10k1-gp" and "joyde"v loaded, but no "sidewinder" ]
it looks like it has ignored my modifications and re-written the previous one.
joystick is not recognized then. :x what's the problem?

thanx for your help.
